Founder Hugh McKechnie left college in the mid 70s and found himself working as a roofing laborer on a hot tar crew.  He worked his way up to a journeyman roofer working in Southern California, the Eastern Sierra Nevada's and Kauai Hawaii eventually starting his own roofing company Highland Roofing Systems.  (C-39 License)  Hugh married, moved to Seattle and returned to college earning a BS degree in Construction Managment from the University of Washington.  After working many years for a well known Seattle consulting firm, Hugh left and formed Highland Construction Consulting Services in 2006.

 

Hugh is an anomoly in the industry having spent twenty years in the trades before returning to college to finish his degree.  Hugh is a professional construction manager but has the real world perspective of a two trade journeyman.  Having been on site for 35 years he knows what drives costs, schedule and truly understands means and methods.

Hugh has worked for development firms and understands the need to have a project meet the goals set within a proforma.

Hugh has spent his life on the coast and in the mountains.  He is a skier and swimmer.
